Franchise Nominations Guidelines:

If one or more of your fandoms is a large and sprawling franchise, please see the nominations guidelines below on how to nominate your fandom!

[These fandom breakdowns are based on crowdsourcing from the franchise wrangling posts. Next round, there will be a new franchise wrangling post to crowdsource/offer suggestions/feedback/concerns/updates for franchises.]

Star Wars

Please split Star Wars nominations into these specific categories:

• Star Wars Prequel Trilogy
• Star Wars Original Trilogy
• Star Wars Sequel Trilogy
• Star Wars Expanded Universe (Disney Era/New EU)
• Star Wars Legends (Old EU)
• Star Wars: The Clone Wars (2008) - All Media Types
• Other individual TV shows, stand-alone movies, cartoons, comics, and video games nominated individually

And utilize the fandom: Star Wars - All Media Types for specific crossovers within the Star Wars franchise. By nominating with this fandom, the automatic assumption is that these will be within Star Wars franchise crossovers, so please disambiguate accordingly if you wish to specify which part of the franchise a character came from!

Marvel Cinematic Universe

Please split the MCU nominations into these specific categories:

• Marvel Cinematic Universe - for the movies and the associated Disney+ tie-ins
• The Defenders (TV) - for the Netflix shows done pre-Disney+ (Iron Fist, Luke Cage, Jessica Jones, and The Defenders)
• Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. (TV) - for Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

Stargate

Please split Stargate nominations into these specific categories:

• Stargate SG1 + Stargate: the Movie
• Stargate Atlantis
• Stargate Universe

Arcane and League of Legends

Please separate Arcane: League of Legends (Cartoon 2021) from League of Legends.

Dragon Age

Since it's been a year, please nominate Dragon Age (Video Games) as a collective, including everything that might be in Dragon Age: The Veilguard.

Buffyverse

Please combine nominations for Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel: The Series as Buffyverse (TV).

Critical Role

We now have ao3 canonicals wrangled for the various Critical Role campaigns, so for this year, let's use those and see how we feel.

Hey, I was wondering for the MCU where would Agent Carter fit in? It's pre-disney+ but fits into the main timeline of events. So I am not sure if it should be on its own or in the MCU under these guidelines. And if on its own how it would handle having characters from it and the main MCU

Hi Zia!

I think this kind of depends on if you're open to stuff in the wider MCU (in which case you'd probably want to nominate in that bigger cluster, and then specify with relationships/freeforms/optional details etc about agent carter) but if you think you're more "I would like this subsection in specific" to nominate Agent Carter as its own fandom.

Franchise stuff is always hard to sort in this way haha, so please lmk what you think and I'll also think about how to update the franchising post in future rounds.

The hardest part is I could go either way with the show. But I think having Agent Carter as its own fandom like Agents of Shield is more common since it is a little disconnected from the Disney+ era. The only issue with that is how to handle crossovers with the main MCU since I am not sure how that kind of thing is being handled for this exchange.

Ah! Okay so I think the best course would be to nominate Agent Carter separately, and then to use crossover fandom for anything that you'd like to be cross pollinated with the wider MCU. We can definitely brainstorm better guidelines for the next round - thanks for your patience!
