Is one of your fandoms part of a large franchise? Do you have a case for why your fandom should appear in the tagset in a specific way? (All Media Types, Split by Specific Movie and TV Show, Some Combination of These?)

Please comment below to let me know how you and other fans of this franchise would like your fandom to appear in the tagset! (If there's already a thread for your fandom please comment there!)

I will be taking suggestions until the 10th of November, at 10pm EST (Countdown Here) and posting the formal nominations guidelines by the 15th of November at 10pm EST so we can start nominations on time!

Please split Star Wars up! It is Too Big and full of too many disparate bits of fandom to all be one chunk, especially for an AU exchange where it's important to be clear about what chunk(s) of canon are being taken as a starting point.

I tend to think the following splits are reasonable (aka: I like how FIAB does it!):

Star Wars Prequel Trilogy
Star Wars Original Trilogy
Star Wars Sequel Trilogy
Star Wars Expanded Universe (Disney Era/New EU)
Star Wars Legends (Old EU)
Star Wars: The Clone Wars (2008) - All Media Types [this needs to be AMT because it has a TV movie involved]
Other individual TV shows, stand-alone movies, cartoons, comics, and video games nominated individually/as series depending on general fandom standards (people are generally good about this!)
Star Wars - All Media Types (used as a within-universe crossover category so we don't need to comb through crossovers for it)

+1 to this breakdown as well. Yes. Very sensible.

MCU

The way to split the MCU that's worked best for me personally has been:

Marvel Cinematic Universe - for the movies and the associated Disney+ tie-ins
The Defenders (TV) - for the Netflix shows done pre-D+ (Iron Fist, Luke Cage, Jessica Jones, and The Defenders)
Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. (TV) - for Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

There is a small amount of crossover between the three (Coulson and Matt Murdock appear in MCU, Sif appears in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., and Daredevil: Born Again is primed to put Daredevil under both The Defenders and the Disney+ TV shows), but it seems to be a popular way to split and I like it. :)

Stargate SG1 + Stargate: the Movie
Stargate Atlantis
Stargate Universe

As much as I personally adore AUs which cause ramifications in what happens in multiple franchises, those are usually sprawling epics. Thematically and in terms of canon divergence opportunities, it makes sense to keep these split.

I think Arcane and League of Legends should be kept separate even if there's crossover in the timelines and characters. Especially considering the LoL universe has its own AUs and it's technically ahead of the current Arcane canon.

wrt the official LoL AUs (K/DA, Star Guardians, Project, etc), I think we need more opinions from other fans who could be interested. I think they could be nominated separately, but I'd be lost deciding which universes are considered AUs in their own right and not tropes.

Usually, I'd collapse all of Dragon Age in one huge pile. There's cross-pollination of characters and it's all set in roughly the same three decades.

But you're opening the exchange two weeks after a new installment hits so I'd do Dragon Age and then Dragon Age The Veilguard on its own spoilery corner.

I was just coming here to say exactly that.
Dragon Age is usually far easier in one huge block due to the sheer amount of crossovers of characters and timelines.

However, yes, I definitely agree that there could do with being some separation of the new release to allow for spoiler free requests.

I recommend Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel: The Series be combined as Buffyverse (TV). There’s a large amount of character crossover, and they take place contemporaneously for four seasons, with multiple crossover episodes and effects on each other’s plot lines.

I'm loving the way we're handling it for FIAB.

Exandria campaigns (C1, C2, C3, EXU) = Critical Role (Web Series)
Candela Obscura campaigns = Candela Obscura (Critical Role Web Series)
Legend of Vox Machina = The Legend of Vox Machina (Cartoon)
